Hi Guys,
I'm close to completing my ES1 Sedan 05' Auto Civic to K24a3 6SP M/T.
Im having some issues with either the ECU or Starter or both
Starter isnt engaging with flywheel. (ordered a new one)
Bench tested & starter does spin when jumped but issue still remains below:
Car is auto chassis & key is held hostage in ignition barrel when trying to take out
Ignition barrel also never has been able to turn starter motor on.
Old Engine: D17z1
New Engine: K24a3 (from accord Euro)
Old Harness D17z1
New Harness Base RSX
All ground cables in
ECU: PPA Q04 CRV 04' KPro from RevZone Aus
Error code in ECU logs also:
P1607 for ECU internal circuit malfunction check
(When I go to load up a map file in Kmanager - I dont see PPA so only other option is to go 'other engines' and select the stock TSX map)
Immobilizer is also disabled & Kmanager can talk to ECU/upload/save maps & changes
A little stumped and dont know whats causing the ECU to not turn the starter motor...
Any ideas?
ES2 Civic K24a3 swap with PPA ECU
Re: ES2 Civic K24a3 swap with PPA ECU
Did you bypass/bridge the old auto box shifter park interlock on the body harness for the starter and possibly the key release from the barrel?
Bye, Arno.

Re: ES2 Civic K24a3 swap with PPA ECU
Hi guys,
So, I have some more news - after further investigating/troubleshooting with friends (1 is an auto electrician)
This is the config now:
KPro 04' CRV MT PPA-Q04 (Bought from RevZone Aus)
K20 (RSX Base) engine harness
K24a3 Accord Euro 03' MT Engine
Chassis: ES1 2005 AT Civic
Since first post I have:
1 - By-passed auto neutral/park safety (Key now cranks engine)
2 - On KPro I have immobilser disabled
3 - I have loaded an accord/tsx base map from the calibrations available on KManager
So with all of this, now when I crank the key
- ECU reads, ignition on, online on KPro
- When cranking, I get RPM also on live datalogging on KManager
- No spark
I have bought and replaced the CKP sensor & rewired it.
Ground is confirmed & tested on the harness
& I have also tried both remaining (Sig/pwr) pins in different spots
I still get the error code:
P1607 for ECU internal circuit malfunction check
& Crank position signal error
I honestly think this ECU is not compatible with Kpro with my chassis
the PPA-Q04 I was given by the tuner shop, is it possible this is actually my issue to why I am not getting spark?
I also tested on the harness from ECU end to sensor is wired up to the correct pin on the ecu
Any help is appreciated :)

Re: ES2 Civic K24a3 swap with PPA ECU
The ECU you are using is not supported and should not be used as it does not have all the circuitry needed.
Re: ES2 Civic K24a3 swap with PPA ECU
Ok so one of the verified retailers has sold this to me & I have explained this to them many times that you guys say its not supported.
I can send it back to them to get it exchanged for another ecu right?
The authorised dealer is RevZone in Melbourne, Australia.
I will use this thread as a reference to them.
Thank you
Kind Regards,
Alex

Re: ES2 Civic K24a3 swap with PPA ECU
This will be up to the dealer, but they should install the K-Pro into a compatible ECU.
Re: ES2 Civic K24a3 swap with PPA ECU
UPDATE:
CKP Sensor was faulty (bent signal pin)
This explains the CKP signal fault issue I was getting
IAT Sensor was also not wired correctly.
ECU wasnt the issue although I did try a 2nd ECU anyways. RevZone confirmed ECU worked on their end.
Car runs now, everything works well.
