2014 Civic Si Tune Help
2014 Civic Si Tune Help
I have a 14 Si with a ktuned ... dp, going into a ktuned 3" catback, a ktuned SRI, battery is relocated and sri positioned behind the headlight. I have the hondata reflash base map tune on it. And had a terrible fuel trim problem that I already kinda figured out how to fix. But idk where or what to do to smooth out the tune and just make the car run as best as possible. Here are some data logs of before and after, i adjusted the fuel trim.

Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
At a quick glance, it seems as though you need to go in and turn off the rear o2 sensor as you keep getting a catalyst efficiency code. Since you're ..., you would want to go in and turn that off so you don't get a check engine light for the code.
Your part throttle fueling is a lot better, but your WOT fueling is way too rich. You're maxing out your injectors very early and in scenarios they shouldn't be maxed. So you need to go in and pull some fuel at WOT to get that back in line. The idle is a little rich too, but for the first thing to tackle I would focus on the WOT fuel. You also have some knock, but nothing to be concerned about right now more than the WOT fuel.
I would also recommend you look into cam angle tuning where you tune the tables one by one, that will save you a lot of hassle chasing tables. It also helps you build a proper cam angle map since you don't have a dyno.

Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
I already went in and switched off the rear 02 sensor to get rid of that code. Tbh i dont really know how to do much more than just scratching the surfaces. The reason i messed with the AFM is because the car kept throwing a too rich code, and i was lucky enough to find a forum discussion with the same issue, and how to adjust it so my fuel trim wasn't at -20%. Attached is the tune calibration im using rn.

Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
Yeah it's interesting you got the part throttle fueling that good being MAF based, usually an intake like the K-Tuned work better tuned speed density (MAP based). If you're happy with how it drives, you can scale the MAF for the WOT fueling in a similar manner to how you did the part throttle fueling. Overall though with your mods, you're definitely leaving some performance on the table with that calibration as the cam angle mapping is pretty conservative for your setup. But if you're happy with the performance, I would scale the MAF for WOT and you should be good from there. Then address the knock of course.
Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
How would i go about tuning a speed density calibration? I really have like next to nothing knowledge other than what I've gotten off the internet. Like i could ask a couple 100 questions about this stuff and what I'm doing. Especially since this is just a bolt on car because its my DD and i cant afford to blow my engine to to mistuning.
Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
I also don't want to be wasting potential if the my car is capable of better performance. Any help at all is more than appreciated.
Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
Yeah the only way to tell and get the best performance is to go in and tune each cam angle to gather data on all of them. I can help you with it if you want, we would start you on my stuff on the 0* cam angle and then work out way up from there. It would probably be somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 revisions to get it all dialed and smoothed out.
Let me know if you want to do that and we'll go from there.

Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
That would be awesome actually if you'd be willing to help me out like that. Lmk what i need to do.
Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
Sounds good. For the datalogs, we need them to be around twenty minutes in length with as much stop and go type driving as possible. On the drive, we need one WOT pull in third gear from 2500-7500 so we can see the WOT fueling. So take this one for a spin when you can, then we'll see how it looks.
This first one is on the 0* cam angle with vtec at 4500. The 0* cam angle is the least powerful so don't get discouraged, it lays the foundation for everything we do moving forward.

Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
Ill do that rn and get back to you with a data log
Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
Heres the first datalogg. Hope its good enough to work.

Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
Looks pretty good for a start. We will now move to the 15* cam angle with vtec at 4500. Take this one for the same type of datalog and driving style with the third gear WOT pull.

Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
Looks pretty good. I made the necessary adjustments for the next one. We will move to the 30* cam angle with vtec now at 5500. Take this one for a drive when you can, same datalog and driving style.
Re: 2014 Civic Si Tune Help
Got the 3rd datalog complete.
