New user to Hondata, new help tuning please! 07 civic si

Post by Jwest1996 »

Hello, I am new to hondata and I am needing help tuning a 07 civic Si. It is my daily driver with 160k miles. Car idling a little rough due to adding skunk2 CAI

Mods: skunk 2 CAI
Gas: 91
Future mods: headers and full exhaust.

If someone could give me any tips with what I should start with first within Hondata, it would be greatly appreciated!

With the Skunk2 intake, the calibration needs to be speed density based or else you get issues such as rough idle among others. Which calibration are you driving on, or did you just get the FlashPro and looking for where to start?

Gotcha, then don't worry about it it's very easy to fix the issue.

How far into the future do you plan on adding the header and exhaust?

Okay sounds good. Since you plan to swap it out fairly soon, we can do a quick tune on it right now which would take maybe 3-4 revisions. Then you can have some fun with it while you wait for more parts. Once you get your header and catback, we can go back in and do a complete tune and really get detailed on it. The short route is just as safe, it's not like you're giving up safety or anything.

Let me know what you think and then I'll post the first calibration for you.

Okay, here is the first one for you. For the datalogs, we need them to be in the 20 minute range with as much stop and go driving as possible. On the drive, we need to one wide open throttle (WOT) pull in third gear from 2500-8600 so we can work on the WOT fueling. Take it for a spin when you can and we will see how it looks.

Sorry for the late reply! I had to replace the timing chain before I added the tune. I just put the tune on today and it feels pretty good. Here is the first datalog. I tried to get a WOT in third, hopefully its good enough. Thank you for your help!

No problem. It looks really good for a start. I made a few adjustments. The longest WOT pull I saw was up to 7000, try to get to at least 8000 if you can. Give this one a drive when you can. It's plenty safe to have some fun with if you want, shoot for twenty minutes still and at least one clean third gear pull.

It looks really good. Just chasing a few knock still, and I made some minor fuel adjustments. Take this one for a spin when you can.

That one looked really good. All the fuel is right on, and no knock. Go ahead and make another datalog or two this weekend some time, if that one looks just as good I think we're there for now.
