That sucks. Overall the datalog looked good, we had some knock which is strange since we haven't had any in a long time, but I made some adjustments for that. I don't tune any E85 stuff, so we'd have to hook you up with someone who will tackle that portion for you if you decide to add it.

Ok, so far it has only happened once, cross my fingers. I am wondering if this header doesn't like so much cam angle? Is this something you can see in the data log?

If it is too much cam angle then the new header is really causing a loss in performance. But we can run it through the 30* angle and the 40* again to get the data, then see how it looks. We wouldn't need to run through them all, just the 30 and 40 to get the data to see what each angle likes. Let me know and we can do that to see.

Yeah, I would like to see. Can we also move vtec up to 4500-4600? Vtec is a bit loader with the new header. Thanks again.

Take this one for a drive, ten minutes is fine with the third gear pull. This is the 30* with vtec at 4500.

That felt good in the 3-4 range.

Not too bad. I made the necessary changes in the midrange there. Now here is the next one on the 40*, we'll see how this one looks.

Damn, that new header just hates 4600 to 6000. Oh well, I have a feeling I will be going with the Kraftworks supercharger in a couple months. For now I will be getting the transmission rebuilt by syncrotech with their 1-4 drag gear set and I think I might change the final drive from 4.7 to 4.3. This should help lower my cruising rpm and help with traction for when I get the supercharger. If they make a taller 6th gear, I will go that direction. I will also replace the clutch with a stage 2 (maybe) and the 11 lb flywheel.

Yeah it's not liking that cam angle in that area. I've gone in and blended it back out and tried to get it past that spot riding on the 30* cam instead of 40* and then tapering it up past that. The 40* is just as efficient as the 30* up top which is nice. Hopefully running 33* VTC through that dip should be stronger than running 40*. So take this one for a spin. Vtec also looks happier at 4500 now. See what you think.

Yeah it looks a lot better. I touched up a couple areas, it should be there on this one.

That is feeling great. Feels and sounds much better at the crossover, very smooth transition.

Good to hear. Post a datalog when you can and we'll make any touch ups needed.

Car is feeling great, still no codes. Tomorrow I will be ordering my new transmission from ManualGearboxLLC. I am going with a stage 2, full syncrotech carbon master rebuild with the final drive of 4.39 instead of the stock 4.76. I should drop 400 rpm cruising above 65 mph. I will also be changing to the 11 pound flywheel and maybe a new clutch. I have an Exidy stage 1 now, but might go stage 2, any thoughts? End goal is Kraftworks kit and maybe built motor, 400 hp?

Yeah it looks really good. So what do you think fixed the issue, I still have a guy with a similar issue who seems to have your luck with this stuff. But let me know so I can have him try your solution.

Sounds good on the trans. Let me know when you put it in, I'll need to change some settings in the tune so your speedo reads right with the new final drive.

The clutch is totally up to you, though if your future goal is boost then I would probably recommend at least a stage II. Though I would contact KW and ask them what they recommend. I don't have any experience with that, so I don't want to lead you down the wrong path. Or ask your transmission guy, they might have a good recommendation too. If you drive a lot in traffic, a twin disc might save your left leg from some stress.

With a built motor you should be able to make well over 400 with E. The only issue is going to be that four letter word you have to do in California every two years. I don't believe the KW kits are CARB legal, but I could be wrong. What I would recommend is trying to get it ref'd with the KW kit on and see if they will give you a ref tag for it. I don't know how touchy they are about aftermarket kits nowadays, but the four letter word will be impossible every two years without the ref tag.
