Return to Stock, vehicle programed by previous owner

Post by dadster »

I am a complete noobe here. I am not a tuner by any means. I have a 2008 S2000 with 25,000 miles. This is a my 5th S (I currently have two).

I bought this car recently and compared to my other S2000s, it gets poor gas mileage in town (18-19, normal 23ish), but expected mileage on the road (28-30). VTECH kicks in around 6000 rpm (I believe this to be stock engagement).

It has been suggested the car may have been tuned (I have removed an aftermarket exhaust).

So here's my question. I have a friend with an unlocked flashpro unit (previous used on a 2008 S2000). If I use it to connect to my ECU, can I flash the ECU from a previously stored baseline and then unlock? Or will it consider my current tune as the baseline and revert to the current (modified) tune if unlocked?

If you lock, return to stock and then unlock you'll get the factory calibration.

But it may be quicker to plug in the FlashPro and read the calibration ID and CVN (from Online -> Diagnostics).

For a S2000 you should get 37805-PZX-A210 and 0xDB5299F2 if it is stock.

It is 37805-PZX-A210, but the CVN says 0x5281E4, does this indicate it's been modified?

0x005281E4 is stock for the A210 calibration (my previous post was not correct). So you are stock.

I followed the steps above for 37805-PZX-A210 (2006, USA) and got 0xDB5299F2. Does that also mean I’m stock? Thanks in advance.
