This may be a dumb question but here it goes anyways. I'm taking my car to get tuned next week and in my crusade to save money and time I wanted to have my boost solenoid setup prior to going. My plan is to have two maps made. One for 20 psi and the other for around 14 psi. So is there a safe way to setup then boost solenoid before hitting the dyno? I've dialed in my AFR's but my timing is only retarded 1 degree per psi.
Setup is
Hondata s300 v1
mac solenoid
Greddy 18G w/TurboSmart adjustable IWG
setting up boost solenoid
Re: setting up boost solenoid
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by a safe way to set it up. As long as it is installed per the instructions and is controlling boost then it should work for your tuning session.

I meant as far as setting duty cylce per psi
Re: setting up boost solenoid
You need to do runs to determine what psi the duty cycles produce.

Re: setting up boost solenoid
by safe way do you mean so you don't detonate? you should only need to reach 5 or 6 psi to figure out the settings for how your solenoid behaves to get it dialed in, you won't need to reach 14 or 20 psi with your 1 degree per psi in timing, if that's what your wondering.
Let's not make assumptions, please leave as much detail as possible!
