Oem Na H22a - basemap timing at WOT

Post by Lyle_57IAL »

Hey hondata,

Just finished a tune on a oem n/a h22a with IHE. Noticed the WOT timing figures were around 30 degrees - though this was a little on the high side and pulled it back to around 25 for piece of mind.

Is this amount of timing really necessary - and are these values really what the engine requires in its factory form ?

cheers

Lyle :)

IT really all depends on the engine and what has been done to it. You really have to use a dyno to properly adjust timing to see where the power levels off and so you can listen for any detonation.

as spunkster say that it really depends on the engine and what ignition is the engine happy at. Some engine's run 26 degrees WOT other engines run 30-31 degrees of ignition. You just gotta make sure that there's no detonation and you need to get your afr's right. :). Make sure that your timing is synced as well.
