Hondata S300

Post by seen4ever »

Please tell me that there will be a upgrade available to use little people.

also, if I get the new s300, will i be able to tune all the local s200 people and then backwards save the file and burn a chip for the less financial people that I tune here locally?

Mainly wondering, if i have a group that I currently tune with the s200, while most have go the datalogging, there are still a few left from when it wasn't available and wanted to know how i'd be able to support them.

Yes, I know its not out yet, but the details look so amazing, i just can't believe it. For someone that was getting tired of the air temp stuff, what you have listed as features is almost spectacular. I'm ready to order now.

Any screen shots? release date? Also would there be any other required software/hardware needed for the user to tune?

the new system is just like the kpro system but for obd1 cars. all you need is a laptop and a usb port and that's it. no more chips to burn, no more nasa command center in the passenger seat with all the different boxes hooked up.

Unfortunately the magazine printed the article earlier than we requested.

The link to information that was posted is out of date and incorrect in regards to the list of features and price. We will release information in the near future. Questions will be answered then.

Please do not call us asking questions as we have not finalized a lot of the details. Please respect this request so that we can get our work done.

well the info is now posted on the main page.

Hondata,
Why isn't there an upgrade option for all us s200/s100 users? i bought my s200 when it originally came out with only the 3step and boost but no datalogging. and now u offer datalogging for free, so i already got the shaft on that one. now i get the shaft again because there's no upgrade option and i doubt anyone will be able to sell their existing s200 for a reasonable price once the s300 comes out.

guys who plan to go N/A and not care to "tune" and have someone else tune their car and all they what to do is drive... the S200 is still a good buy for those guys and they will save 250 US. And don't forget, the JDM guys still can't buy the S300... Here in Trinidad, there are only JDM ECUs, so we will still HAVE to buy the S200.

how does the WOT shift and launch work if there is no longer the plug in for the clutch switch? Do we have to go back to the original OEM button?

What about TPS tuning for ITB people?

When will the RomEditor v4 come out to allow the s200 people air temp correction and gear correction?

How much will that cost upgrade cost us?

Just wondering about some basic questions, I'm on the bridge as to whether i want to drop 600 bucks on a new system or wait for the new rom editor.

For people like myself that tune others locally who don't have rom editor software or datalogging, is there a way to use the s300 and then reverse it to s200 code for a chip?

You can use a spare ECU input, so set it by vehicle speed.
What about TPS tuning for ITB people?
Yes, as per the K series.
When will the RomEditor v4 come out to allow the s200 people air temp correction and gear correction?
Later in the year.
How much will that cost upgrade cost us?
Undecided at the moment.

Yes, with RomEditor4

Upgrades are generally only offered on software products, not hardware. We have tried hard to offer as many of the s300 features for the s100/s200 (RomEditor4) to give s100/s200 users a low cost upgrade path.

alright last question.

I buy s300 system, I have to get an ecu modified for it to work, Can I do this, or do i need to sent it back off to you guys? I just had a spare p72 socketed, so really not a big deal.

after i have s300, some local s200 users want to be tuned, they don't have datalogging. What i take your reply to mean is that I can use the s300 to tune, then convert the tune to s200, kind of how now in romeditor we can convert it back to version 2.5 for the old stage systems. Is this fact?

I can understand the upgrade thing, its just that i'm on hondata system #2 now, as 4b to s200, now i'm really considering s300, as i would love to not deal with the nasa command center that goes on in my passenger seat when i want to tune. I just want to make sure before I buy an s300 and sell my s200 system, that I can in fact still tune s200 people.

Thanks

The socketing for the s300 is the same as the s100/s200, except you use male pins rather than the 28pin socket. It actually is easier to start with a fresh ECU for the s300 so that there is less chance of lifting tracks while desoldering the socket, but if you or someone you know can socket an ECU for a s100/s200, they should be able to do the s300. The s300 will come with the male pins.

With RomEditor4 you will be able to convert back to the s100/s200, but it will not then convert back to the stage systems. Sorry.

Exactly the same as the s100/s200, but use male pins rather than a 28 pin socket. The pin height does matter. Any rectangular frame OBDI ECU will work, except for a few rare exceptions (Civic VX ECU with second processor for instance). P28, P72, P75, P75, P30 (rectangular version), P61 will work. Some other ECUs may work as well.
