speed adjustment for the CL9?

Post by dinoc »

I have a CL9 MT (with 4.7 Final Drive) and it uses TSX ECU AT coverted to MT with Flashpro.

Can someone tell me how the speed adjustment should work for this?

At 100 km/h on the dash
Flashpro reports VSS speed 96 km/h
GPS reports 93.6 km/h

What value should I put into the speed adjustment in the calibration?

Second issue, why the speed on the dash is not the same with the one reported by Flashpro (VSS sensor) ?
It looks like this two are not in sync, as mentioned above, at 100 km/h on the dash, it reports only 96 km/h on the datalog.

Most people drive 105 km/h (to fast) so if the police make a civil speed control all is ok.
Unfortunately the dash is incorrect in most of all (new?!) cars.
It is not recommended to adjust the dash. Otherwise you have another wheels etc. mounted...

Regarding second issue, maybe I did not made myself clear, I did not talk about GPS synchronization with the dash speedo, I'm talking about the dash speedo not showing the same value as the VSS value, this two should be the identical. (I noticed this in the flashpro datalogs, knowing I hit 100km/h on the dash but the VSS in the datalog shows only 96 km/h, the same thing is shown when going on live mode with Flashpro, going constant at 100km/h on the dash speedo, the flashpro shows 96km/h VSS ).
Why is that? Is there a problem with the flashpro?

You're looking at manufacturing tolerance of the cluster.

I'm not sure if it's a manufacturer issue, do you guys have the same issue?

Maybe it's related to the fact that my euro CL9 MT had from factory 4.3 FD, and now I'm using a TSX AT ECU (which I believe the AT transmission has 4.4 FD on TSX) and my car is using a 4.7 FD... I did not check this when having all stock.
Tough not sure, I still believe the speedo on the dash should show the same speed like the VSS does, no matter what FD you have.

Can you check on your flashpro while going to a certain speed (100 on the dash) and see what speed the VSS shows in Flashpro ?

Did you adjust the FD in the calibration?

That will be in step 2, adjust that to match the GPS speed.
But step one there that issue I mentioned above, VSS speed and dash speed being different.

OK it looks like the stock car (stock ECU, stock FD) has the same thing, the dash speed is different than VSS speed from the sensor (at 100km/h the VSS speed is the same 96km/h) ... I expected to be the same and only GPS speed to be different ... weird.
