Since we are revving about 1,000 rpms higher with the reflash program do we have to change our valve springs???

Which engine? 1000 rpm higher?

The stock rev limit for a K20A2 is 8100 rpm, reflash raises it to 8600 rpm, which is the same as the stock K20A redline.

The K20A3 base goes from 6800 rpm to 7300 rpm and the Civic goes from 6800 rpm to 7500 rpm.

See the valve spring tech section on the reflash page.

Your tach is inaccurate. The stock springs are good to over 8000 rpm, so 7500-7700 rpm is OK.

Still, back to the question- your stock valve springs will hold up fine if you occasionally rev to 7500ish, but if you're an addict like some of us... yeah, ... you'll want to replace them at some point before something goes squish. While you're in there, might as well do a few other things- valves, retainers, head gasket, etc.- just plan for it to take a while :) Mark W.
