Boost by RPM without a gear position option

Post by fastg »

I have a K24A2 in a Locost 7 track day car, so RWD using a Miata 6 speed transmission. Being a very light car only 1300 pounds, so I am looking for a smooth gentle turbo setup. I am mostly worried about the initial torque hit unbalancing the car at corner exit. I want to do boost by rpm starting to 4 pounds and probably only ramping up to 8 pounds. But as I read the configuration I can only do boost by rpm if I have a gear position sensor. Am I wrong on my understanding of boost control. If I am correct can I fool so say it thinks I am always in 3rd gear. Or do I have other options.

Thanks

Graham

You can use the fixed duty cycle, but without a VSS it will not know the gear to do proper boost control via RPM or gear.
