Vtec wows

Post by MiniMojo »

VTEC wows update.
Stripped back the wiring. Car harness has two small white plugs (Minitec harness).

I've set the hondata s300 VSS to zero and VTEC should rely on tacho to engage VTEC.

There are Two VSS connections on the small white plugs. Pins D & E respectively.

On Hondata SManager I've added VSS to the display screen. No VSS picked up!?

Thinking about it, the VSS will give a pulse to the speedo. The OEM speedo will calibrate to a true speed and send out a revised pulse back to the ECU.
Right?

So if my aftermarket speedo doesn't do that and I jump the cables it won't be a true speed but at least it would give it a speed.
Right?

There is no VSS output from the ECU. VSS is input only form the speed sensor. Nothing on the Hondata side is automatically calibrated.

I've now jumped the cable and ECU now sees VSS input. Can calibrate with % with speed sensor correction.

Update.
VTEC now works!
Minimum Throttle was set too high at 40%, turned it down to 5% to test and now it kicks in!
