Damaged 8th ECU

Post by dvergara »

Hello Hondata.
Can you help me with a query. I have a client who was using a Honda dealer (civic si 2009) but he had an electrical fault in his car and his ecu was damaged. Now I buy a new Hondata and a used ecu but when trying to link the Hondata to the new ecu it was not possible because they installed an ecu for R18

Damaged ECU serial is : 37820-RRB-K01 CANADA
VIN: 2HFG21508H870012

MY QUESTION IS: Can I buy an 8th Gen ECU from the USA and will it be compatible with the car made in Canada?

What do you mean that they were using a Honda dealer?

You should use the correct ECU from your region.
