It’s finally spring in Minnesota, we finally can get traction, no snow!!!
I have an FK8 2019 with base tune for 91 octane, improved throttle response and traction control.
I am new to tuning, and TC...When the traction control kicks on in either of the 3 modes, it feels like someone it hitting the brakes then the turbo goes splish! We accelerate again and when the TC kicks on the magical brakes get applied.
It’s super noticeable, and doesn’t seem right.
Do I turn the Honda TC completely off by holding down the VSS button for 10 seconds?
Leave it on?
Any help would be appreciated!

Could this only be happening when the engine is "cold"
Does the car have a closed loop, until it gets to optimal temperature?
I had a 06 civic si before this and the vtec would not kick in until the engine was warmer....

Have you tried allowing more slip with the traction control settings?

I am not that confident in my "tuning" abilities. I got the Hondata just in case I do mods later. It's nice to clear codes etc.... I also heard the TC is super awesome. So I would need to do a ton of research to figure it out.

Sounds like you are having the factory VSA kick in. Post your calibration and a datalog.

Should I do a datalog while accelerating? thats probably a dumb question... since TC doesnt turn on standing still.....lol...

In the first data log file 00, the severe "Braking" happened. I was in R+ mode for file 00, and sport mode for file 01.
If there is a specific way to do a datalog, besides running up from 2nd gear to 3rd in each mode, please let me know.

It is the factory VSA closing the throttle. This is because the amount of power in 1st & 2nd gears is a lot more that what the tires can cope with (and probably 3rd too). The solution is to reduce the torque in 1st, 2nd & 2rd for sport and R modes.

I am glad that what i attached was helpful. Now i need to figure out how reduce torque in those gears, and by how much.

In the throttle section you can reduce the torque requests for all gears and modes.

Let me know when you find the sweet spot for your throttle section I have the same issue

Turning the factory VSA off by pressing the button for 3 secs is good. In R+ mode hold it for over 10 seconds. With VSA completely off R+ mode is better.
Reducing torque in 1st & 2nd helps as well.
