2010 Acura TSX 6MT- 1st Gear Jerk

Post by GKSSJ4 »

Currently running a BaseMap tune, but after doing so, it is very hard to take off from first gear smoothly.

I read about "1st Gear Dampening" under Throttle Parameters for other cars, but it seems that Any Throttle Parameters are entirely Unavailable in Hondata's FlashPro manager 3.4.3.0 for the 2009-2014 Acura TSX.

Is there any way to fix this so there is a smooth clutch/ throttle engagement in first gear? I like the throttle response, but it is far too jerky and I find myself "peeling out" a bit everytime the car sets off from 1st gear. It's also extremely uncomfortable for any passengers.

Pls refer to the attached snips.

Thanks!

Does it seem like the throttle body is opening too much and too fast, or not opening fast enough and causing the jerking? Do you have a datalog you can post where it is doing it? We would need to see where the throttle is sweeping through in order to know where the throttle is in relation to your pedal input.

hmm, I think it opens up too fast when I want to set off in first gear. I gotta find time to create a datalog. How do I send Datalogs to diff members on here?

You can send it to me if you want at eficalibrations@gmail.com. Take a datalog while driving to work or something if you want, it doesn't have to be anything elaborate. Try to make sure you replicate the issue in the datalog you send, so that we can verify it happened and look for possible issues in that area.

The pedal maps are pretty soft off the hit to keep things smooth, but you may be hitting higher cells via more clutch slippage (your driving style, not the actual clutch). If it is something like that, we may be able to soften those higher cells off the hit. Without seeing a datalog I am guessing though. Spunkster and Hondata would know a heck of a lot more than I would, just trying to give you something to go by.

Let me know if you send me an email and I will keep an eye out for it.
