Fuel Status 8 Error occurring Accord 2018 Stage3 Hondata tune

I recently re flashed my accord back up to the stage3 tune. I have almost all the prl bolt ons.

The car sometimes reports Fuel status 8 during acceleration or a hard knock event. The event is hard to reproduce. Seems random.

I only have logs after it occurs. I am not sure how to diagnose this issue. It doesn't occur for Stage1 or Stage2 tunes AFAIK. (I had been running stage2 for last few months. )

Help! Thanks

Does the error always come with the P0304 misfire in cylinder #4 code as in the datalog you posted?

You will need to capture a datalog of this as it occurs.

I have been able to reproduce the issue. It looks to me there is false knock or some knock control applied. Then when knock event removed timing jumps forward too much :-/

P0304 appears as a the MIL. When the fuel status 8 occurs. I have marked the event in the log.
What i do see
Knock retard occurs without knock count milliseconds prior to event.
Timing is pulled ign is 0 down to -8 degrees.
Then knock retard is removed
ignition timing jumps to 5 degrees.
Wham -8 degrees to 5 degrees timing @ 19 psi.

I have already replaced the short block once too much power 28+psi stock rods.. Bent a rod.
I would like to avoid that again :)

Do you have a PRL intake and has the AFM been properly calibrated for this intake?

I reported ign limit not timing...the ign timing didn't jump that much only 2 degrees. I believe that should be relatively safe.

There literally was no knock event reported. That blows my mind particularly when receiving a p0304.

The PRL Accord 1.5T intake box is in the stock location. There was no replacement or modification to the AFM. Only the intercooler and piping after the intake are replaced in the airflow path.

Am I missing something?

Honda Accord sport 1.5T
PRL catted dp
PRL Stage 1 intake piping and drop in filter

That could still cause a disruption to the flow of the air. You might try putting the stock intake back on and see If the problem goes away/

What does Fuel Status 8 Error code indicate? How Can this error be triggered?

2 = closed loop
1 = open loop (sensor warming up)
4 = open loop (driving conditions)
8 = open loop (error)

We don't have a stage 3 calibration. You should be using either the stage 1 or the stage 2 listed in the software.

Not to quote hondata site but..

https://www.hondata.com/products/flashp ... lter=1%2C5

Accord 1.5 6 MT Stage 2
Stock - Orange
Stage 1 - Red No extra peak hp but 20-25 hp midrange and 20 lb-ft torque
Stage 2 - Magenta 11 peak hp and 40 -50 lb-ft torque
Stage 3 - Silver 13 peak hp (40-45 hp midrange) and 50-60 lb-ft torque

And the hondata has the calibration as the picture shows.

I can change tunes sure. Is there an issue with the stage3 tune?

sorry, thought you had a 2.0L engine.

Try a stage 2 calibration and see if the problem persists.

No big deal, You guys respond to these posts and they are all over many different products. I will toss the stage2 tune on tonight.

I wish I bought a 2.0T.
