2018 Accord Re-calibrate for 17 inch to 18 inch wheels

Post by shimei »

Hi,

I'm looking for a little help in re-calibrating for different wheel size. I replaced the factory 225/50R17 on my 2018 Honda Accord 1.5L LX with 235/45R18.

Could anyone suggest what I need do to re-calibrate for the different wheel size? I imagine my speedo might be off and so would the fuel mileage?

Hi Shim,

The difference between your tire sizes is only 4/10". Your 17's are 25.9" OD and the 18's are 26.3". Looking through the 2018 Accord file I don't see anywhere to adjust for speedo accuracy like in older ECU's. Not sure how accurate these online conversion calculators are, but it shows a 1.18 MPH difference at 65 MPH. Calculator shows 66.18 MPH instead of 65 MPH based on your tire size difference. I would consider that not too much to worry about.
