MAF Scaling

Post by ayau »

Just read the Hondata MAF scaling article and had a few questions.

https://www.hondata.com/tech-tuning-boost-afm

1. Is the MAF scale in the Hondata maps the factory scale, or were there some changes made?

2. Per the article, the stock intake has a +/- 3% short term variation. Is there any benefit to fine tune it to something like +/- 1% short term?

3. What's the maximum fuel % the FK8 ECU is able to compensate to hit target lambda? I understand that the factory tune was tuned on 0% ethanol and Hondata base map has taken into account the 10% ethanol in US fuel.

1. Unaltered factory.
2. No.
3. Around +- 25%. And yes, Honda uses the same fuel equations worldwide regardless of ethanol.
