Throttle closure during WOT

Post by richcurt84 »

I'm currently running a full-race efr7163 turbo kit on an 18 CTR. Car is pretty much FBO and being custom e-tuned. I'm on my 5th revision and I've been getting throttle closure around 5300 rpm on WOT throttle pulls in 3rd gear. The tuner has increased the torque request target to combat the closure and I'm confident he will get it figured out. Does anyone have any advice or dealt with this issue and have any tips...thanks guys!!!

Please post your calibration and a list of all modifications done.

What do you mean by FBO?

Full-Race EFR 7163 turbo kit...full-race cat-less down pipe..full-race 3.5inch to 3inch intake... hks intercooler and charge pipes...hks legamax exhaust. I'm tuning with Derek Robinson at Innovative Motorworks. This is his calibration I'm currently using. FBO= full bolt on.

Thanks

Fuel pressure is dropping and the ECU is going into a protection mode.

Wastegate is fairly well open but you're still seeing a lot boost. The actuator linear travel to wastegate angle might not be correct. But fix the fuel rpessure first.

Also be aware that if you disabled error codes it does not fix any underlying problem.

I believe I'm simply out of fuel at this point. The wastegate is properly adjusted.

No DTC's related to boost control are disabled unless Richard has done so himself.
