k23 to k24 head trouble codes p0128

Post by hardromel »

Hi, I changed the k23 cylinder head for a k24 tsx head and I had to eliminate the coolant return, the thermostat stopped working and warmed up. I had to uninstall it.

Could you disable this code, please.

I’m having the same issue as well, but for different reasons. As with the RDX and other Honda platforms, the temp range to run the fans off the ECT2 sensor at the radiator is too high for anything performance-oriented, particularly boosted. If the range gets modified in anyway, it triggers a P0128. There is an option to disable the ECT2, which is typically what’s done by tuners and the fans are run off of the ECT1 at the engine instead of at the radiator. However, on the RDX platform, the P0128 is still triggered when the ECT2 is disabled. I’d rather have this disabled than suffer the associated knock/timing retard/power loss that’s associated with the engine running hotter than it should be with increased boost/power.

It seems like this issue was fixed for the 2012-2015 Civic Si platform. viewtopic.php?f=44&t=21772&sid=f40af53d ... 7&start=15
