TL target AFR issue

Post by VitViper »

Gentlemen -- seems we have a bug in the TL code?

I have a customer with:
- 04 TL 6MT
- 310cc injector
- CT-e Blower
- bolt ons

Using FPM 1.7.2 (beta). AFR will vary between WOT pulls, and you can see the resultant INJ PW & duty cycles skyrocket -- one pull will be on target AFR, the next 10-12% richer.

I've emailed Derek the logs & the calibration.

I believe that it is from the temperature difference 212 ECT vs 188 ECT, coupled with increased knock from the increase in temperature, triggering 'cat protection' mode. We've disabled this for the next release.

I seems to have a similar problem tuning at wot in 3rd gear, I cannot lean it to (13.0:1) AFR, looks like the AFR only wants to stay in the low 12... is this link to what VIT says?

How are you trying to lean it to 13:1 - via the WOT compensation tables?

no only using the high load fuel table, is there another/better way to do it?

No, it's just that a lot of people think the WOT compensation is a target lambda and make them lean, which forces the ECU into closed loop the whole time.

Even if the is cat protect in effect the normal fuel tables are still used.
