CAN bus output, 120 ohm termination

Post by RallyCivic »

Does the CAN bus output work when running off USB? I'm working on my bench before setting up in the vehicle and I'm having issues with CAN communication.

Also does the Hondata TCS require 120 ohm termination?

No, it works whenever the traction control has power. However it will stop transmitting if it has a large number of packets which are not acknowledged.

The traction control has a termination resistor.

Thanks.

I've got it working on the bench. In test mode on the TCS controller slip set to 20%, knob in position 5.

Hondata TCS Live data reads the following
  • Target slip 5 Position 30%
    Overslip 21.00%
    Overslip (smoothed) 0.00%
    ECU output 3.10 V
    No Error/faults
On the CAN receiver side
  • Target Slip; 30.00
    Over_Slip: 0.00
    OverSlip_Smooth; 0.00
    ECU_Out_V: 3.18
    error bit flag: 1.0
I can't seem to make sense of the Over_Slip message.

Second question regarding the rear wheel speeds, how do the have the same conversion as the fronts being 8bits instead of 16 bits?

You need to test in a vehicle to get accurate packets.

Rear wheel speeds are the same as the front.
