Completely new to Hondata or any sort of ECU tuning here; but want to play around with a Hondata to get some driving enhancements.
Not really looking for gains (that'll be a big bonus) but want the following features:
1) Eliminate Rev Hang during high RPM shifts
2) Ability to lower Vtec engagement to around 4800-5000rpm
3) Ability for the car to run on Regular 87 gas (well, still want the car to be usable and 91-93 is not always available).
4) Car must stay reliable!
I'll be keeping the car entirely stock for the most part. Only thing I have in is a K&N reusable air filter, and I'll be changing engine oil before the tune.
Will a Hondata BaseMap provide me with the things I need here?
Thanks.

Re: NEWBIE- General questions RE: 2010 TSX 6MT
You will need to use a minimum of 91 octane fuel as this engine has higher compression.
Re: NEWBIE- General questions RE: 2010 TSX 6MT
The answer to your questions are yes with some minor tweaks, except for 87 octane use like Spunkster said. Let me know if you want some help dialing in a tune for this.

Hmm, actually I had the tune in for about 2 weeks now..... thanks for respondng
I was told by the Honda parts retailer that Hondata does not remove any of the stock ECU protections, including the knock sensors. I was sold on the Hondata in the first place because they said the knock sensors are still in place and wouldn't allow the car to be damaged.
I even had a full tank of 87 in the tank with a basemap tune; car ran fine but I did not push it.
Car is noticeably faster. but from the factory it says "Premium Recommended" instead of "Premium required" for the 2010 Acura TSX (K24Z3)... I know for the 2004-2008 TSX, premium is required for the K24A2.
Also; I noticed there are only 4 available basemaps for the 2010 Acura TSX and there is no live tuning option;;; need some help with that too.
Mind you;;; this car is mainly a daily driver; and occassionally if I road trip it without the availability of 91;;; I need it to run on 87. where I live, it costs 34 cents more PER LITER (i.e. $1.50 more per gallon) for 91 vs 87.

Re: NEWBIE- General questions RE: 2010 TSX 6MT
As of now I am running a base Map tune for the 6MT TSX. I lowered the VTEC to 4800rpm and redline at 7400

But the car's stock ECU has Knock Sensors. I hope because my car is tuned, it will not get rid of the knock sensors that retard timing as neccessary when it detects lower grades are used. There has been a few fuel shortages this winter;;;;
