You must use a supported rectangular case OBD1 ECU. Square case JDM ECUs cannot be used wiht he CPR.

I Have a few questions before I decide to go this route or not.

I have had no luck pulling the ecu pins out without destroying the plug. Can I clip the affected wire say 5 inches from the plug and solder in the CPR side to the short wire.

Will the H22 cover hold the coils in or do I need to fab up something. If I need to fab something is there a product made for this. I have seen the for B's but nothing for H's.

Car has and OBD 2 jdm dizzy that I rewired for OBD1 plugs. It works fine now. I don't see any problems with this do you?

thanks

steve

You should de-pin them and attach them with the supplied pins. IF you ever have to go back to stock once you cut the wires it makes this much more difficult.

The H22 cover should work for holding down the recommended coils.

As long as the distributor is working and is oem it should work without problems.

Thanks for the prompt response. I don't have much confidence in my ability to remove the plugs. I may try again at the JY before attempting on my car.
But If I can't I can solder and the then just splice in later should I decide to change it out. More trouble but less trouble than me jacking up my main harness trying to get it out.

Will the s300 give me an error code of say cylinder 3 coil misfire or bad. Some error code to determine which coil is bad should that ever happen?

Also how many things can I ground to the Tstat housing before IT becomes a bad ground? I have the ECU, Wideband and the CPR is that too much at one location?

No it will not tell you which cylinder is misfiring.

Grounding multiple things at the thermostat housing will not cause a problem.

I ordered the CPR and the coils. I apparrently didn't look at the order to carefully and I ordered 30520-PVJ-A01 not the PVF
Before I cut the tab off can you tell me if this coil is long enough?
It says the one I ordered is a replacement for the pvf, however it seems short in length. Should these fit on like plug wires? Ie tight or do they just barely touch the plug?
Motor is H22

thanks

http://www.oemacuraparts.com/oem-part/o ... 20-PVF-A01

That is the part I ordered

I cut one and does seem short. It doesn't have a tight fit at all.

I edited the first post.

There is not a tight fit. The seals are what help hold it in place and keep water out. It will need retention form the top using the stock spark plug cover.

So I should be ok?

You may want to edit the help page to reflect the change.

Could somebody measure the length of their coil? And I can measure this one to compare?

thanks for all the help. And I haven't even installed it yet.

steve

EDIT seal removed It measures 130mm to the inside of the coil where the seal sits to the end of the coil

So I finally got around to installing the CPR kit today. Despite my attempts for it not to work. Like everything else I have hondata it works fine.

Thank you Spunkster and hondata for the Help. I only had one problem and that is because I changed the settings but failed to update the ECU once I did that it started fine.

Despite my worrying about the coil length they seem to work fine.

Thanks again.

Im having issue with the cpr. Car had the cpr install and tune about three weeks. I drove the car twice. Took ecu and cpr out the car due to parking car in storage. Today i go plug in the cpr and ecu. Car cranks and nothing. I try Cranking again and i heard a big back fire and nothing. Call my buddie he drives his civic to my storage and i put my cpr box and coils into his car and turns on with no problem. Only thing i notice different is when i put the key on ignition in my car, the power light and the ignition light come on. Wen i crank The motor the sync light just blinks once and not more until i reset the key. My buddies car when i turn the key to ignition only the green light goes on. When i crank his car the ignition light n sync start to blicking and will start. Both car are wired the same by the same guy and nothing was changed or done to my car beside taking ecu and cpr box were taking out for 2weeks n plugged back in. Any info ?

The next step is to try swapping ECUs.

Car:91 honda civic dx
Motor:H23A with JDM internal distributor wired for OBD1 (I tried using internal aftermarket OBD1 dist. )
ECU:P72-S300 latest firmware update
Everything is OBD1 no jumper harness Custom harness
I am using K-coils

Car starts fine with regular distributor and plug wires

I Have read the instruction and believe I have wired the thing on right. The ground is on the thermostat housing, I tried connecting the ICM wire (which on my harness is yellow and orange not solid orange) to A21, A22, A21 and left A22 unpinned, A22 and left A21 unpinned and it doesn't make a difference. Just to make sure I wasn't doing it on the wrong side I tried it again and before I even started the car a CEL (code 21-vtec spool) came on so I ruled out that I wasn't wiring it on the wrong side.

The box does get power when the car turns on, the sync light also turns on and flashes fast when the car is turning over, and the ign light also flashes but a lot slower.

I am confused as to how to wire it up on the Distributor. I looked up the youtube cpr install and did exactly what it showed. I removed the coil, depinned the plug from the two wires coming out of it and put the pinned wires that came off the cpr and connected it to the main harness and that didn't work.Lights flashed on the box but no start.

I tried keeping the distributor together minus connecting the power wire that goes from the ICM to coil and minus the rotor, splicing both wires that came off the dist. to the wires from the cpr and then connect them to the main harness and that did not work. Lights flashed on the box but no start.

I tried just connecting the two wires from the dist to the cpr only and that did not work. only sync light flashed.

the wires that go to my distributor are both the same in color except one has a green seal and the other a yellow seal. So I tried to follow the instructions like it states but just incase the seal didn't have nothing to do with which one is tach and which one is for power I also switched them around to see if that had anything to do with and it didn't do a thing for all three tries.
