Up!

I have exactly the same problem with my car (MY06 S2000); when I try to lock my FP to the car I receive the following error:

"This ECU does not have a VIN set. Please see your Honda dealer about programming the vehicle VIN into the ECU."

Dealer told me there is no way my ECU could have an empty VIN.

I sent a feedback to Hondata through FP Manager but they don't have a solution.

Have someone found a way to solve this problem?

Thank you

Your vehicle definitely does not have a VIN. If in doubt either look on the FlashPro window.

Solved!

Here is the guide to solve the problem:

1) Do NOT ask you Honda dealer to "write in the ECU the VIN code of the car": NO ONE will do it, and you're just going to create confusion.
2) Ask your Honda dealer to "scan the ECU to check for errors".
3) He will connect the scanner AND his notebook (the standard scanner won't work) to the OBD port of the car.
4) He then will be asked by the laptop software to insert the VIN number of the car (and will state that the ECU won't remeber it: but it doesn't matter, FP just need this step to be done) and the km travelled.
5) Let him do whatever scan he wants to do.

Now you can go back home: the FP will lock (don't forget to turn the ignition on!).
