I was looking in the service manual today and I ended up getting confused in the section about resetting the ECM. The manual stated that with the HDS you can clear DTCs, reset ECM, and clear the CKP pattern individually, but with a generic scan tool all you can do is clear commands, and it clears all that data. I tried looking at the FlashPro Manager manual and I didn't see anything specific, so my question is, if I Clear DTCs with the FlashPro Manager, do I have to do the Idle Learn procedure, and the CKP Learn procedure? Or do I have to do nothing unless I reset the ECM specifically? Thanks.

Clear DTCs uses the OBDII mode 4 PID, and the specification states it should only clear trouble codes. However, uploading a calibration will reset all memory so idle and CKP settings are reset. CKP learn occurs very quickly in normal driving (basically decelerate once the engine is warm) and idle learn also occurs fairly quickly (idle for a couple of minutes when warm).
