Cam angle map info??

Post by Typersam »

Hi guys, sure it's a very easy question but on the cam angle maps on hondata if I selects the 0 degrees map for instance why in that map are there angles that are not 0 degrees?? It's the same thing with all the other degrees. Cheers

The cam angle maps are populated with the values for the amount of cam advance you want. The only time you can look at the tables for specific cam angles is in the fuel and ignition tables.

Mmm still don't get it lol so when I use the drop down menu and look at 10degree map and see values from 0-40 etc why aren't they all 10? What do the numbers represent? I know they are cam aims but why are there higher than 10 cam aims in the 10 degree cam map?

Please read the info at:
https://www.hondata.com/tech-rsx-vtec-vtc
https://www.hondata.com/tech-vtec-crossover

The VTC table has a composite map that has the best cam advance settings for making power.

Yeh I understand what the principles are bro...but I mean you have to tune earth cam angle map right? I just don't get how we tune 10 degree map with other numbers than 10. Lile on low load why does the 10 degree angle map have 25 and that in it? I've attached a pic

The CAM angle map tells it which cam angle fuel and ignition map to use for that load.

Edit all the tables to 0 degrees and tune then to 10 degrees then tune.. ect .. then once you've done it all set the cam angles to where you make peak torque
