Flashpro Has a Short While Connecting to OBD2 Port HELP

Post by kgold51 »

Recently my flashpro has developed a power short while plugging it into my 8th gen civic si OBD2 port. I can plug it into my laptop and get power no problem from the USB, but whenever I plug it into my OBD2 it doesn't get power until i start wiggling the cable around. Once it finds power it stays on until you move it or unplug it again. I'm concerned because recently my PCM starting failing and even threw a code and I have an appointment this week to get my ecu swapped and immobilizers set up and once I remove the flashpro and plug it back in I'm worried I won't be able to upload my Kraftwerks Etune I need to have on my ecu to be able to drive my car. I'm at a loss on what to do.

Before getting the ECU replaced, what exactly is the error you are getting? IF you replace the ECU you must first return the old ECU to stock and unlock the FlashPro.

Have you checked the diagnostic port connector under the dash?

The code for the ecu just says pcm failure, I would have to rescan the ecu to get the PO code. I haven’t checked the diagnostic port yet.
