Knock control value

Post by mladjan »

While I was using race calibration on my fn2, knock control was working fine, after reflash it starts with some higher value, but during a ride it goes down to 0%, which should be right, Im using 100 octane fuel all the time, from the same gas station which is also tested in the lab and has 101 real octane value.
I moved to hybrid calibration finally, and everything works fine for now, but this knock value never goes below 50%. The same fuel is in the car, tried to fill it multiple times after that, the same.
Any reason why is that different?

Have you change knock sensitivity for the ignition limit? The knock control will only go down when knock is likely according to the knock sensitivity and ignition is advanced according to the knock ignition limit but no knock occurs.

Ignition and knock tables are copied from race calibration, but anyway I will recheck them.

Knock control works differently between the race calibration and normal calibration. I would not copy values from one to the other.

Can I know what are the differences and what to use as base for hybrid calibration?

Use the default values. If you get knock, isolate the area where you get knock and reduce the ignition timing.

I'm now using default knock values from predefined base calibration. There is no any knocks for now (its cold outside) but after two days of driving, knock control value is still flat 55% with 100 Octane fuel. Where to send you calibration and log?

55% is the lowest it will go for that vehicle.
