A/C Air conditioner does not work in AFM mode

Post by jimmyz98 »

2009 Civic Si - 2.0L

Hondata Flashpro holds two presets. I set mine up as follows.

Preset 1 - AFM tune
Preset 2 - MAP tune

When I upload the MAP tune, the oil life goes to 100% and the AC works.

When I switch to AFM tune, the oil life goes to 0% and the AC compressor won't turn on.

I reset the oil life and it still doesn't kick on the compressor.

When I switch back to the MAP, the AC works just fine.

Any thoughts?

Post the calibration you are having trouble with. Also from Help, About, what version of software are you using?

I'm using version 1.1.8.5

Thank you for the fast response.

AFM TUNE - ECON.fpcal
It is the standard AFM tune for Injen SRI. I may have changed the limiters, otherwise, it's straight out of the box.

Occasionally we have seen the AC stop working temporarily after reflashing. The cure is to go back to stock (using return to stock), power cycle the ignition, and then run the car until the AC starts to work (which may take 1-2 driving cycles, including the idle re-learn). Then load the AFM calibration you want. It only happens to about 1/500 people.

It is from the reflash process rather than the FlashPro. I'd suggest picking either an AFM or race calibration and sticking with it.

Hi, I conected for the fist time the FlashPro via bluetooth to my phone an suddenly my AC stop working.

Following your advice in this forum reflas my ECU to Stock and still no AC.

Do you have a work arround this issue.

Thanks

See the post above. Go back to stock, power cycle and then drive until the AC starts to work. Of course, it could be a fault unrelated to the reflash process.

I have a similar issue where the ac wouldnt come on. After reflashing and all that jazz, now the compressor will not turn off.

I'm now using a vit tuned hybrid map, and my repair facility ran diagnostics previously and stated everything was ok, and pointed towards the ECU when the ac wouldnt come on. Now I'm scratching my head and have to remove the relay to turn my ac off (good relay).

I tried a generic cal (Fujita SRI, buddy club header, exhaust) and everything works fine. Flash back to stock, AC works fine. Back to my cal, ac does not turn off.

Any ideas?

Try checking 'use second coolant temperature sensor for fan control' (which is the normal behavior).
