New to s300. Few questions on installation/calibration

Post by Cabletie »

Hi everyone, just bought the New s300 v3.
I'm planning to turbo my b16a2 but it is stock with just header for now.
I would like to learn how to tune and I'm doing a lot of search.
The question in, once I've installed the hondata to my ecu, do I need to tune it? More specifically, my ecu Will be "empty"? Hope you have understood my noob question.

If I need to upload a basemap, do you have one? I looked around for stock basemaps but they seems to have nitrus and boost options enabled....

Another issue is about the wideband. I'm looking at the plx one. I think I've not understand properly how to connect it to the hondata even if I've read on the hondata website. Once I will have it connected do I need an exernal gauge too? or I can read it on smanager?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Giovanni.

For basemaps the stock P30 (US) or stock P30 (JDM) would be close. You could go to Vault (online Hondata repository) where there are around 40 stock B16A base maps.

We recommend the PLX devices widebands. If it does not have a gauge then you will have to use the laptop or out mobile app via Bluetooth to read the AF.

ok that's awesome, thanks Spunkster. Another question...
Do I need 2 sensors to enable the open loop function? or I can just replace my lambda with the o2 sensor and connect it to hondata?

Sorry for these stupid questions, I'm totally new at ecu tuning.

You only need one wideband.

HI again, I'm still confused about the wideband intallation. Can someone be a little bit specific?

I'm looking at the Bosch LSU4.9 Wideband Oxygen Sensor. I just have to connect it to the oem lambda connector?
Why on the hondata website there is a wiring procedure then?

The Bosch LSU4.9 Wideband Oxygen Sensor alone can not work, it needs a controller like PLX, Innovate or AEM to process the data.

You don't need to have anything plugged in to access it. You just need internet access and have to enter the login and password correctly.
