Stock gsr block, b16 head with gsr cams, type r valvetrain. Itr manifold. 2.5 catback.
It idled rough with p72 ecu
I checked the timing, valve clearance, vacuum leaks. Everything pans out. I'm assuming its due to the lower compression because I'm not running p30 pistons.
I have s300 I was planning to use for when i go turbo but I want to break in the motor without boost. so I want to see if anyone had a map they want to share. I've searched and only found maps for high compression pistons or ctr pistons.. I'm assuming its the p72 ecu causing it. Does anyone have a map that doesn't use p30 or high compression pistons?

Hey man, I have a similar setup; Gsr block, b16 head w/ b16 cams and supertech valvetrain, b16 mani. I'm running a stock p72 and mine has a fluctuating idle on occasion (not IACV), but runs and drives for the most part fine. It kicks at low rpm in 1,2,3 gear but runs fine over 2.5k rpm. There is a thread near the top of this board "http://www.hondata.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=16050" which is a gsr tune, but someone with a similar set up as ours says it ran great, if anything, it'd be a good baseline to start with, which I plan to as soon as my s300 comes in the mail. How does it idle other than 'rough'? Is it fluctuating high and low, is it running obviously rich?

I ran it with a p72 ecu. It ran horrible. The vtech cracked wrong. It idled good. I do have gsr cams and itr mani I so its calling for more air, but didt supply the fuel. You have to run at least 92.otherwise you get bad preignition. I dynoed it and got 116hp at the wheels with 90 tq on stock ecu. Dont run a p72 ecu. You won't make any power

I recommend that tune :P

Especially with a non-GSR manifold.

Was the intake cam clocked at all? And about how many degrees?

I did not run a cam gears so both were at 0 and I only ran the CTR intake cam due to the weaker exhaust springs on the GSR head. It also gets most of the benefits from the intake.

Because I'm not running a ctr cam. It runs real rich on wot. I have to figure out which columns to lean out till I get the ctr itr cam in

I guess not super rich most of the time, it does spike to 10 once in a while

Just the last 3-4 columns on the high cam. Subtract a couple %, but not much.
