AFR's drastic change when electrical load added.

Post by Daz81 »

Hi Guys,

I have 2 customers who are having this issue now.

With the engine running and afr spot on no issues, but as soon as any for of electrical load is added ie head lights on, fan on etc the AFR suddenly go lean by like 1.2 AFR's so were idling at 14.5 turn the head lights on adn thats drops to 15.7, turn the lights off and it settles, Its not just at idle and does it over the whole map.

Both cars are running grams 550cc injectors with the voltage/dead times added in as per the info supplied with the Grams injectors.

Ive read others having the same problem but nobody seems to post up how they fixed it.

Any help/info appreciated.

There are different ways of measuring the dead times and we've found some manufacturer data is way off. If the afr goes lean when the voltage drops then you need to start adding to the dead time at lower voltages.
