Fuel trim vs Dead Times vs RPM

Post by RoadsterAlex »

Hi,

SO I figured out a few things.

When I select ID1000 injectors, dont change anything and set Overal Fuel Trim to: 0% the car idles fine but very very lean.
When I enter my correct dead times and injector flow rate to it, i need to adjust it to 19% to get a nicer AFR.. BUT the idle does to 1900+ RPM

I took a 10 min drive doing multiple things which i added as attachment.

At a medium load cruise (perhaps 60mph steady speed) adjust the overall fuel trim to give 0% fuel trims. Then from the same speed very slowly reduce throttle until the injectors cut out. If the fuel trims go positive then your dead times are too low. ID1000 dead times are around 1.2m @ 14V.

This is all predicated on having the fuel tables in good order to begin with so if your fuel tables are not tuned then you have to go back to stock injectors and tune the fuel table before setting the dead times.
