Just bought a RSX, Speedometer doesnt work

Post by Jayrem »

Hi,

I just bought a 2006 RSX turbo from an older gentlemen. From the initial test drive, I saw that the speedometer didn't work at all.
The owner told me that I can just bring the ECU to a tuner and he'll fix it..

I'd like to bring the car to a certified hondata dealer/tuner, but I want to confirm what I have first.

I am new to this, but here's what I think I have:

K-pro sn: 05009469
ECU pn: 37820-PND-A03
ECU sn: 2062-202037 0H22

Here's all the pictures for reference.

Regards,

In the calibration, what setting do you have selected for the speed sensor in the Misc section of parameters?

Unfortunately I couldn't tell you.. I just wanted to see if something needed to be done in the ECU.

Is there a way for me to look at this? Thanks

You will have to look at the calibration that is on the ECU to see how it has been programmed.

If you do not have a saved copy of the calibration, then you can try going to the online menu, go to tools and download the calibration from the ECU.

Hum.. I really don’t want to mess anything up with the tune.. I guess my question is more about the ECU itself. I’ve seen some related topic where the actual ECU wasn’t actually converted for an 05-06. Is mine converted? If so, then my only real option is to bring it to a certified dealer and he can analyze the issue and fix it.

It appears to be converted, so You will need to verify the calibration.
