Hi, is it possible to connect 3 devices on the can h and can l outputs on kpro 4?
If so,
Where would I place the 120ohm resistor required? On each T off? Or 1 resistor out the board and then T off to 3 devices?
And how would i configure each device separately in k manager?
Canbus output to 3 devices
Re: Canbus output to 3 devices
Yes, the CAN bus can have multiple devices on it. There is no setup - each device on the bus can communicate with every other device.
As far as termination resistors goes you need a total of two on the whole bus. You need to check each device as each may or may not have built in termination.
With the bus each 'T' should be kept short - under 0.5m.

What do you mean by a total of 2 resistors?
If each device requires a resistor at tranmission end and receiving end, then how is 2 resistors going to give me this?
Should I have 1 resistor at transmission end, before the 3 way split and 1 at each device receiving end?
Total 4?

Re: Canbus output to 3 devices
A CAN bus should have one 120 ohm termination resistor at each end of the bus.
The complexity comes into how the devices are connected to the bus using 'Ts' and how some devices have termination resistors built into the device.
Something like this is more like what you will need.
