Ethanol content reading low

Post by iBoost »

I'm running the GM/Continental ethanol content sensor wired to the digital inputs on Kpro4.

I have VP X85 fuel and the sensor is reading 78%. Is there a way to calibrate this?

There is no compensation for this. You can only adjust the fueling compensation and ignitions changes: http://www.hondata.com/help/kmanager/fl ... htsub=flex

Thank you for your response.

Would a different sensor offer a more accurate reading? I don't understand why it isn't accurate.

The VP X85 should read as 85%. Otherwise, what's the point?

You could try measuring it using a manual kit to see how accurate it is. Also keep in mind that unless the tank is bone dry it will be diluted.

I did have regular in it for initial startup. I drained the tank but perhaps there was still enough in the lines to throw the numbers on the X85.

Sorry to thread jack but I'm having the same issue. Did you ever figure this out? I can't take advantage of my full tune till it reaches 85%. Today I added more e85 and it reached 81 then slowly dropped down back to 78%

Thanks, Ed
