Car erratic jerking and misfiring

Post by vjunior714 » Thu Jul 28, 2016 9:20 am

Wadup guys, Im sorta new to the Hondata forum so bare with me guys. Since i finished building my car the rpm has always been slightly jerky idk why but it wasnt so bad until now. When I'm cruising the rpm is unstable and jerking as I am accelerating (as you will see in the datalogs). I notice it misfiring throughout the whole rpm range ONLY at WOT. Kpro does not pick up any of the jerking or misfire so it makes it very hard to diagnose the problem but i do believe it is all related. I have new oem coils & new spark plugs. Ive checked fuel filter and its not clogged. Fuel pressure is stable. I thought it would be the tps but tps seems okay to me. I recorded a couple datalogs. Hopefully someone with more experience can help shine some light on this. Below I have put a link to everything that my car has its a big description. Oh and I forgot to mention, the jerking didnt always happen. There would be times it would run smooth as new but now its constantly all the time.

Any input is appreciated and thank you in advance guys.

without the calibration it is hard to see what might be causing this behind the scenes.

Has this been professionally tuned on the dyno?

It seems like the spark is blowing out and you are getting misfires. This will most likely not be detected in software or generate an error code.

Yes, it has been dyno tuned by Church. I've even tried uploading a different calibration from a previous tune just to make sure the tune might not be the problem and it behaves exactly the same how it does now. Knowing that the previous tune did not do the symptoms I have now.

I'll check and switch out my spark plugs in a bit and keep you updated. Right now I have the ngk iridium 2 steps colder. I have a set of ngk iridium 1 step colder plugs I will replace them with.

You might want to take it back to church to see if they can help you diagnose the problem on the dyno.

I'm considering it. They're cool people. I'm going to try and replace a couple things before I take it to them. Thanks for the help though. Switching the air fuel ratio sensor and see if that helps. I'll keep the post updated as soon as I find a solution.

Disable the acceleration smoothing retard by setting the retard values to 0, and I'd suggest setting the tip in retard gear multiplier values all to -100% (all this is under 'Gear Comp'.)

The injectors are 2700 cc? How were the dead times set?

Update: Replacing air fuel ratio sensor did not help

I'll definitely give that a try by resetting the values.

No the injectors are FIC 2150. I just noticed on the calibration it says 2734. As for how the dead times were set I wouldn't know to be honest.
