K-Pro and Check Engine Light

Post by ep3dem1k »

I have a K-pro in my 04 EP3(USDM SI) and I have a K20a(RSX Type-R) motor. When I start my motor and the motor is cold and if i let the car idle the check engine light will turn on after a few minutes, its a soft code because when i hook up my laptop and try to read the code it does not show up. If I turn the ignition off and turn it back on the check engine light turns off. Do you know what may be causing the light to turn on?

Do you have the stock cat? If not then it is likely the MIL is from the secondary o2 sensor. Disable error P0134 and see it the MIL goes away.

Thanks

The error code is related to the cat & o2 sensors.

Do you have both o2 sensors and a cat? If not then you'll need to disable the OBDII functions in KManager.7

For the love of god, answer the question:

Do you have the stock car and how many o2 sensors are there?

In KManager disable OBDII and error P0134.

If you still get a MIL then jumper the OBDII connector and tell us the code from the number of MIL flashes plus the DTC from KManager.

To jumper the OBDII connector short out pins 4 & 9 with a paper clip. The MIL should start to flash the codes.

41 = Air Fuel Ratio Sensor Heater System Malfunction

We'll update KManager to show the correct error code in the next release.

Does KManager still show unknown error 77?

Which error codes have you disabled in KManager?

Are you sure the o2 sensor wiring is working OK? Have you followed the troubleshooting procedure in the manual?

My KPro reads "unknown code 77" When I put my motor in I did not cut any part of my harness so it should all be good. I'm going to try to replace my frint o2 sensor. The MIL will still go off even if I turn the o2 sensor heater off from the kpro.
