Problem with Type R Kpro

Post by rsx_driver »

I have a PRC (Type R) ecu that was made into a k-pro. My problem is that when I install it with the stock calibration (immobilizer disabled) it generates a VTEC oil pressure DTC. I can clear the code but it comes right back. When I re-install the OE ECU there is no DTC. Any ideas?

Just for clarification this is a Type R Kpro in a K20A2

Do I have to turn off the VTEC oil pressure switch when using the JDM ECU with a USDM type S engine? I didn't think I had to because the ECU is the piece that is lacking support for it.

If the K series ECUs are anything like the OBD1 ECUs, the software does the looking, not the hardware. I suspect you do have to disable the VTM to remove the code.

Yes you will have to disable the vtec oil pressure error in the software.
