Dyno Chart Posted, I need Advice

i posted a couple questions on CRSX and a few club members suggested to ask the questions here.

this is what i posted on CRSX:

Hey guys,
I went for my first dyno run on the weekend and i have questions about the results...

First, here is some back-ground info on my car:
-2002 Type-S, 202,000Km (approx. 125-130,000 miles)
-AEM V2 SRI
-Hondata Reflash #4
-Remus axleback muffler with stock piping, hi-flow cat, and I removed the stock resonator

While i was viewing other hondas (S2K's and B18 swap civics) whenever they v-tec, a lot of black smoke would come out the muffler. I had no black smoke at all which made me think my hi-flow cat or muffler is seriously blocking air-flow or one of the 2 is clogged. Some of the S2K guys had stock mufflers and stock cats but still blew black smoke! i was the only car without smoke

I was also under the impression i wouldn't have so much dip @ 5200. Is there something wrong? K-Pro is not an option right now, I only wanted to do I/E/ reflash#4.

i know that every dyno is different, but on Hondata's website my numbers look to be on par with what they're sayin, but on AEM's website, it says just adding a cold air intake would put our cars at 185-190whp. There were Civics with B-series Type-R motors with DC header, exhaust and computer dynoing at 173wph at this same shop. Is their dyno reading low?

I was thinking of putting a bigger diameter piping on my exhaust but i really like the way my muffler sounds.
If i added bigger diameter piping & resonator, would it be quiter than my small 2"piping and no resonator? Since my muffler only has a 2" inlet, i was advised not to put 2-1/4" piping because it would bottleneck.

There are really strict penalties in Toronto for not having a catalytic, so i haven't put on a raceheader yet or even considered it. Plus i don't like the black sut on the bumper and the smell LoL.

I know most of you guys have WAY more experience and knowledge than me, so any suggestions or thoughts would be really appreciated. If I missed any info you guys might need to answer my questions, let me know.

The dip after VTEC indicates a restrictive exhaust - what is the minimum internal diameter of the whole exhaust system? Often the cat back mufflers feature an internal core significantly smaller than stock. Also a cold air intake will work better than an intake which draws air from inside the engine bay.

Observing black smoke is not a generally accepted way of measuring lambda.

thanks for the response.
the only reason i mentioned the black smoke is because i was suggesting that i didn't have the proper flow. the 2 things that popped into my head that could be hurting my dyno numbers was the V2 intake, the exhaust piping diameter, and/ or the restrictive muffler. i don't have a resonator on there either. the exhaust b-pipe is stock 02 type-s diameter (2" i think), it just has a Remus axle-back. what diameter piping would you guys suggest for optimal results? 2.25? 2.36?
or can i leave the stock piping and put a less restrictive muffler on?

A couple of weeks ago i put a new hi-flow cat and Greddy Evo II exhaust on my car. it feels like i lost low end power, but the top end seems a bit better. the inside diameter is probably 2.36. the outside diameter is 2.5.

i am still experiencing a major dip at v-tec. a couple friends suggested a CAI would eliminate the dip, and you even mentioned it in your reply too. since this exhaust project was so expensive with little to no correction in the dip, i don't want to buy a CAI without some sort of logic besides 'the air is colder'. can you explain why the CAI would help eliminate the dip and the V2 doesn't? any info would be appreciated.
