RSX type S engine conversion to type R

Post by autoimports »

I have a RSX type S that I converted the engine to type R by replacing the type R head, type R intake manifold, type R cams, the type R header, transmission and flywheel. I want to do the Hondata ECU reflash with the 8,600 rpm limit. I need advice to what reflash to order for this conversion. It has a long cold air Injen intake and retains the 11:1 compression from the type S pistons. Do you recommend using another type of exhaust header or the stock type R is fine with 2 1/2" exhaust pipe? Thank you.

If you plan to do anything else to the car, I would suggest just getting the K-Pro so that you can properly tune it on the dyno.

It will only be $300 more to get the K-Pro instead of the reflash which will be $200 if you already have a reflash.

The car has the type S ecu. I plan no further modifications. I am not considering the K pro. I would prefer the reflash. I see you sell for type R engines a reflash. Would that work on my type S ecu? Do you have a phone I can call you to order?
