Lost Reflash - Got erased?

Hello I have 2006 acura tsx, reflashed ~10 years ago.

1. Recently went to dealer for check engine light diagnostic - catalytic converter

2. And then a few days ago, alternator problems caused my engine to shut off while driving after being jumpstarted - went to dealer and got new alternator + new battery installed

could any of this scenario cause the reflash to be erased? I noticed something different when I don't hear the VTEC at 4800 rpm anymore. Then I went home and put car in park, rev engine past 5000rpm and it would not go past 5000 rpm.

How do I get the reflash back? Do I have to pay the full price for it or is there a cheaper price for restoring the reflash? Thanks!

Only if the dealer used the Honda tool to reflash the ECU. If some electrical glitch had erased the ECU (which I've never heard of) then the engine would not start.

Hondata, thank you for response. I am not sure what happened or what the dealer did.

How do I get the reflash back? I drove my car and got the reflash from you guys in Torrance back the. Can I bring it back to have you guys take a look?

What is the serial number on your ECU?

Can you tell me where to look for serial number? I think you guys just plugged something in under steering wheel, so I never took ecu out

It is on the ECU, the ECU is behind the center console under the dash.

Ok I will try, but what would be the minimum steps to just look at the serial number, the left or right side? Would I need to take off the bolt and take the ECU out to see it? Or would removing the triangular panel enough to see it?

You may be able to see it just removing the panels.

It would be $75 to send the ECU in to have it reflashed again. You will just need to fill out the reflash form and send it in along with a cashier's check for $75. Make sure you send the ECU, Key and immobilizer.

No, I'm sorry, but we are not open to the public. You will have to send this in.

I don't remember what I did back then when I first got the reflash, but I remember driving to a shop and then following somebody to a different location to get the reflash. Was it Church automotive? I know they have onsite reflash option.

Do you know if Church automotive offer the $75 restore option?

The only option for this is sending the ECU in to us. No one can do this reflash on-site.

Spunkster, thank you for your help.

If I wanted to pay the full $295 for the reflash, can my ECU be reflashed again with this option? I don't want to take the ECU and immobilizer out.

What I will do is pay the full price and do an onsite reflash with Church automotive or Autowave. Is this possible with my ECU, full reflash again, not restore?

Thanks
