Reflash before bolt on's

Post by Jerequan » Sun Oct 06, 2019 3:42 pm

Will I have any issues having my base auto ecu reflashed before adding any other mods to my vehicle? I assume the ecu will re-learn the required info when each mod is installed in the future, correct?

What modifications are you referring to?

I plan on getting either a race header or cai shortly after the reflash

It should be fine with an intake, but with a race header, it may throw an error code if the CAT is eliminated.

We don't have emissions testing where I live so it shouldn't be an issue unless it's actually gonna cause my car to have problems. I'm sure ill get annoyed with it at some point and maybe put a de-fouler in. Also one more question.. Is there any combination of these mods (intake, header, and catback) along with the base auto reflash that would be safe to use with a type s or aftermarket intake manifold??

IT should work with an intake header and cat back, but not with a different intake manifold.
