S300J on JDM EG6 with Traction Control

Post by chris2000 »

Just wanted to know if the S300J could be fitted to the original JDM EG6 which happen to come from japan with traction control.

ECU is a P30 with serial 37820-P30-931. Will S300J install with no problem as i dont need TC :?:

If the ECU is the same as the P08 or P30-J then it should work. Can you post a photo of the inside of the ECU?

Strangley i tested my S300j chipped P72 ecu on my friends JDM EG6 with TCS, the dash RPM meter does not work. I plug the laptop to the ecu and there is a reading for RPM in the laptop.

I put in another Mugen P30 ECU just for testing sake and the RPM also don't work.

But back this OEM P30 ecu wit TCS and the RPM meter work straight away.

Check how the dash is getting the rpm signal. Normally it receives it from the ignitior, but with the EG6 it might be reading it via the the ECU. The reasoning is that if the TCS cuts ignition then the ignition signal will cause the tach to jump around. I don't see why you shoud not be able to switch the dash over to the ignition signal if not using the TCS.

Yep, the P30-960 TCS ECU has an RPM output - Pin C1 IIRC.
