how to tell if ecu is bad

I was gettin a code 8 before for tdc. Got a new dizzy car ran great after. Soldered a few wires together and changed plug wires and now i get a cod 4 for cyp or something like that. Everything checks out good. The flow chart says replace with a known good ecu to confirm if its the ecu. What if it still dont fix it? Is there away to test the ecu???

Try ECU in known good vehicle
