Re: TPS wiring and ecu grounds

Perfect, thanks! I will check the thermostat housing ground.

Still baffled as to why there was a wire spliced to the TPS signal.

TPS wiring and ecu grounds

On my p28 when I started the car for the first time this year, it was getting no TPS signal. I checked the wire and someone had spliced another wire into the TPS one, which I somehow accidentally ran to ground because I thought that’s where it went before. Probably my mistake. I cut that wire and TP...

Re: Old AEM wideband install into S300v3 P28

Yes that is the plan once I get the wideband calibrated correctly in Smanager.

Thanks for the help gents

Re: Old AEM wideband install into S300v3 P28

Thanks. Can I cut the wire currently going to D10, or do I need to splice into it?

Is removing the resistors 100% necessary, or should I see how it works first while leaving them in?

Re: Old AEM wideband install into S300v3 P28

OK that made me more confused about cutting the harness off a dead sensor. I have my stock narrowband still running for closed loop. I have my wideband running the gauge only and want to hook it up to ecu for datalogging the easiest way possible. The white wire should run to the ecu, is there a simp...

Old AEM wideband install into S300v3 P28

So I have an older aem wideband (probably 7 years or so) installed by previous owner that was never wired to the ecu. Looking to hook this up finally. It’s a P28 with S300v3, running a B18c1. Car was a ‘91 obd0 coverted to OBD1. Now, I understand I should be running the white wire to D10. Is it okay...

Need help understanding duty cycle

At 6300rpm I am at 13.77ms injector pulse and 72% duty cycle at full boost. Is there an equation to figure out maximum pulse at 8000rpm, or better yet what my estimated duty cycle at 8000rpm would be assuming the same pulse width? I know there is a relation between injector ms and rpm, just want to ...

Re: Injector sizing in SManager

I have now learned the importance of proper dead times through first hand experience. I am still tuning my fuel tables in open loop, and thought I had it dialed in for low load, idle and cruising conditions. The other day after getting back into the city on a warm evening and a decent cruise on the ...

Re: Cold boost cut

To put some resolution to this thread... I believe the issue is that with colder ECT and IAT it was compensating with more fuel. Under certain conditions it was running excessively rich to the point of misfiring. Even when warmed up, under heavy throttle, lower RPM it was running pegged rich. So I a...

Tuning Closed Loop for Cruising

Need some help understanding the closed loop parameters and how they function. Say I am tuned in open loop so at cruising I am around 13.5-14:1 AFR. When I run in closed loop, it bounces from 13 all the way to 16+, back and forth constantly and I can feel the car lurching slightly due to it getting ...

Re: Cold boost cut

Yeah I realize, it is not tuned yet, just running on an old tune from before I replaced the S300, so there have been some issues. The 30% was added to the original P72 basemap to account for e85 vs gas, and the injectors scaled to 1000cc just to get it running. So it is still a basemap, and I am sta...

Re: Reading AF in datalogs for e85

After taking some readings from my wideband gauge and comparing it to the Lambda voltage showing in SManager, I believe this is what the voltages are equating to in actual AFR... Volts----AFR 0.00-----17 0.25-----16 0.50-----15 0.75-----14 1.00-----13 1.25-----12 1.50-----11 1.75-----10 Or something...

Re: Cold boost cut

Fuel trim is at 30% I think for the e85. I have actual flow rate and dead times which I am going to fix once I start fine tuning fuel tables in open loop.
