You should only be using your basemap as a starting point if you are a tuner or to drive your car to a tuner if you aren't tuning yourself.

You shouldn't be guessing...you should be using a wideband to determine how the cells need adjusting.

If using Hondata, you'll want an ECU that has VTEC and KNOCK.

Are you sure it's detonation and not rod knock? I've had people confuse the two before.

90 Acura Integra = OBD-0 94 Honda Civic = OBD-1 To use this ECU you will need an OBD-0 to OBD-1 conversion harness, which most people don't use [you'll mostly find people converting OBD-0 to OBD-1 instead of the other way around]. While you may have a higher rev limit, it certainly will not save you...

What I do not understand is, if I am gonna run a turbo - how will the Hondata be able to retard the timing, etc. if the MSD is controlling the spark and ignition? Thanks. You do not need to get an MSD unit that can retard timing or anything like that if you plan on using Hondata. If you do get an M...

As long as you keep the throttle at WOT. full throttle shift sets a temporary rev limiter.

By using full throttle shift, you will be 'bouncing off the rev limiter' during shifts, but you'll be doing it at a designated RPM [say, 6500]. This is how Hondata keeps your revs up. Why are you afraid of a rev limiter?

For a street driven car, there is no reason not to run closed loop. This will eliminate the error and you must use an oxygen sensor to run closed loop. mine was street driven every day on VP 110 gas..o2's dont last long with leaded fuel or a rich mixture under boost... that's the exception to the r...

Yep. I'm using the MSD 6A with a trigger adapter circuit and external coil so that I got rid of the stock Honda coil and ignitor. It runs fine in conjunction with my Hondata.

Check that the ROM isn't installed backwards and that all your solder connections are good.

From my experience, you shouldn't drive hard on basemaps. The basemap will allow the car to run with whatever size injectors you have and can probably [big maybe there] handle a little boost, but it's best to stay in vacuum when on a basemap and use it only to get your car from your house to your tu...

At idle it reads 0.31 volts. So I need to remove the TPS sensor on the throttle body and 'rotate' it? Define rotate please. Alternative Fuels

Just curious if anyone has experience tuning a Honda with Hondata that runs on alternative fuels...i.e. - alcohol, propane [LPG], natural gas [CNG], etc?

I'm kicking around the idea of messing around with propane on one of my engines.
