FWIW, FileZ is sweet. I use my Palm to record autoX data from myself and my codriver. Due to not always starting the recording, false starts, and reruns it can get very confusing which run was which. (The transfer from Palm to PC wipes out the time log of the file making it near impossible to tell w...

If you are just looking to datalog, you don't need to spen alot of cash. I bought a PalmIIIxe on E-Bay for about $12 and got a null-modem connector from Radio Shack for about $5 and I'm golden.

Works like a champ - at least the hardware part.

I love the PlamLog tool - how about an upgrade? I STILL want to be able to use a triggered recording and play it back on my laptop.

I know y'all are busy with the new kid in town (K stuff), but don't forget your current customer base!

Ran into a sim problem with my JDM ECU. Read all the supplimental docs on the Hondata CD, there are specific error codes you have to disable for a JDM ECU, injector fault is one of them I think. Another is the Barometric Pressure. I don't know what's up with the P28 though. People who are used to ch...

No. The capabilities of the Palm are a much closer match for our requirements than the Pocket PC, in terms of cost, time, usability, complexity, reliability and battery life.
It's in the Palmlog manual - see the Palmlog page.

Delayed Recordings don't play back correctly

I use a Palm IIIxe to data log while running AutoX events. When I record by hitting the "record" button, the files play back fine on Hondalogger on my PC. When I use the triggered "Delayed Record" they don't play back or graph correctly. All the data is there, because I can expor...

FWIW, I bought a Latitude XPi P133 off E-bay and it works great as a logger - no USB adaptor req'd, records at +900 var/sec, no errors, and the best part - it probably cost less than your USB-Serial adaptor ($12.50!).

I'd think about a dedicated old-school laptop!

I've got it figured out. (It wasn't that difficult.) By turning off the screen updates on sensors, graphs, and g's, it speeds up recording only if you are on one of these screens! If I stay on the Main screen, I still record at about 45-50 Hz (about one complete variable record cycle every 0.4 sec.)...

Record Speed?

I bought a Palm IIIxe and tried the PalmLogger for the first time. Even with graphs, sensors, g's turned off, it looks like I'm recording data about once every 0.4 sec. Does it get any faster? Do quicker handhelds record faster, or is this as good as it gets? (Alot happens in 1/2 sec.!) Is it possib...
