Hondata systems are available for OBDI ECUs only. A Hondata system consists of additional components which are added to
the standard ECU to allow the ECU to use a Hondata program (this
modification is normally done by the dealer). An interface
box is then connected to the ECU which contains circuitry for
datalogging, stores rev limits and interfaces to switches in the vehicle.
Optionally a clutch switch, push button and datalogging cable may be
installed. Collectively all this is known as a Hondata system.

These images show how much simpler it is to hookup and tune with the s300
with Smanager compared to the s200 with Romeditor 4:
S300 with Smanager

S200 with Romeditor 4

Hondata systems:
s100
The s100 is a small circuit which fits inside the ECU. It uses the same ROM file
as the s200, and has the same features less datalogging, full throttle shift,
launch control.
- s100 - this is the entry level system tunable by the
dealer only is for users who do not wish to tune their vehicle themselves (but
offers the same level of tunability as the s200), and don't require
additional features such as 3 step rev limiter or datalogging.
s200
The s200 is external to the ECU, controlling datalogging, launch control and
full throttle shift via connectors. The s200 can use a calibration either from
Romeditor3 or Romeditor4.
- s200 - this system allows either a
Hondata dealer or the user to tune their vehicle, and offers
additional features such as launch control, datalogging, g-sensor and 3-step
rev-limiter.
s300/s300j
The s300/s300j is a circuit board which fits inside the ECU. A slot is cut in the side
of the ECU for the USB connector. The ECU uses different connector pins than the
s100 & s200 (male pins vs. a socket).
The s300 - will only fit inside a
rectangular US frame ECU.
The s300j - will only fit inside a
square JDM frame ECU.

Staged Systems - Discontinued
- Stage 2/3/4 - the stage 2, stage 3
and stage 4 systems are the original Hondata systems. It is
recommended to convert to OBD1 and use the s100, s200
or s300 as the staged systems are no longer available).
Each system has a variety of configurations, options and features, some
of which are specified when purchasing the unit, others which may be added
later on. For more information, see the s100,
s200, s300 or stage
2/3/4 pages.
If you have a staged Hondata system (Stage 2/3/4), and you wish to
upgrade to the s300, here is an upgrade
guide. |
